What is Biomimicry?
Biomimicry is the practice of mimicking nature. Essentially, it is applying certain traits and behaviors from well adapted organisms to structures, engineering, and everyday life projects and problems. A perfect example of Biomimicry is the notorious Kingfisher bird, whose beak is aerodynamically structured to pierce through the water without sending ripples across the water's surface. By studying the Kingfisher, Japanese engineers structured the bullet train to incorporate its beak into the design and allowed for a more quiet and aerodynamic transportation.
